New Bedfordshire Youth Opera: auditions in January

BACC for the futureFollowing New Bedfordshire Youth Opera's recent successes with Sondheim's 'Into The Woods', Gilbert and Sullivan's 'Trial By Jury' and Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas', we are back for our 2013 production.

Whether you've been performing for years or have never sung on a stage before, New Bedfordshire Youth Opera offers the unique experience of rehearsing and performing works from the operatic and light operatic repertoire under the leadership of theatre and music industry professionals in a friendly, supportive environment. Many of our former members have gone on to successful careers in music, opera and theatre.

If you are aged 14 – 26 years (at the date of our first August rehearsal, Monday 12 August) and have a passion for music and/or performance, get in touch to arrange an audition.

Auditions will be held at The Place Theatre, Bradgate Road, Bedford, on Sunday 6 January between 10am and 6pm.

BYO Trial By JuryYou will be expected to sing one song of your choice. You may also be asked to read some dialogue.

This year we are looking at a varied selection of works, including:

  • The Merry Widow  - Franz Lehar
  • The Magic Flute - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  • The Merry Wives of Windsor - Otto Nicolai
  • The Tales of Hoffman / La Belle Hélène - Jacques Offenbach
  • A Night In Venice - Johann Strauss
