Young musicians play at the Albert Hall

Bedfordshire Music celebrated their 40th anniversary with a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London that raised more than £1,000 for the children's charity, the NSPCC. The show featured all seven of the county's orchestras and concert bands as well as the Bedfordshire Advanced Percussion Programme and a choir of 500 singers from Beds lower and middle schools.

County council chairman, Richard Baker BEM, said: "It was wonderful that our talented group of young people had this great opportunity to perform in the Royal Albert Hall.

"I am quite sure that these young people will remember this occasion forever."

Bedfordshire Music is a partnership between the county council and the Bedfordshire Music Trust to provide instrumental tuition, ensembles, concerts, events and musical activities in schools and the wider community.
